“Daisy Jones and The Six” By Taylor Jenkins Reid Bite Sized Review

Book DescriptionDaisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go-Go. But it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Another band getting noticed is The Six, led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

ProThere were so many things that I enjoyed about this book but some of the main things was the interview style of the book (I actually didn’t think I would like it!). The development of the characters was truly something else, and even the side characters had more development than some of the main characters in other books. (cue gushing) Taylor Jenkins Reid has this way of taking a story and just making it special in my opinion the development just made it feel like it was a real band, and I got so attached to the characters too! I wish it was real so I could listen to the songs (sad face).
ConIt got a little confusing towards the end and hard to keep the story straight
Three Wordsoriginal, intriguing, drama-filled
Trigger Warningssubstance abuse, alcohol abuse, addiction, abortion
